Yutong Bus, an industry-leading bus OEM in China, has launched their L4 level autonomous bus “Xiaoyu 2.0”. Powered by Ecotron Autonomous Driving Control Unit (ADCU), Xiaoyu 2.0 serves as a short distance shuttle bus to connect commuters from public transportation (train, bus, subway, etc.) to their destination.



With LiDAR, cameras, and other sensors, EAXVA04 (Ecotron’s fourth generation ADCU) controls Xiaoyu 2.0 to achieve L4 autonomous driving. The system is fully capable of V2X communication, route planning, autonomous control, obstacle avoidance, emergency braking, etc.

Xiaoyu 2.0 is a fully autonomous bus without driver seat and manual operation device. The control of the vehicle relies on EAXVA04 installed on the front part of the vehicle. EAXVA04 is a production level and automotive grade ADCU designed and manufactured by Ecotron. This device can process data from 2 64-channel LiDAR, 4 16-channel LiDAR, 14 cameras, 2 millimeter-wave radar, and other sensor input. Once the perception is completed, ADCU plans the optimized route and controls the vehicle to travel from point to point safely. Meanwhile, the vehicle information will be sent to the operation center via 5G network in real time.
